GLACIER NATIONAL PARK (West)

Today was a fantastic visit to Glacier National Park. Glacier National Park is a beautiful place that was once filled with over 150 glaciers. By 1968, the numbers had been reduced to around 50, 37 which had been named. Due to global warming, today there are only 26 glaciers left in the park, and they are mere remnants of what they once were. Scientists predicted that the glaciers will be completely gone by 2030, but, today a park ranger told me that with the way they are melting, they will be gone by 2020! Today was the 100th Anniversary of Glacier National Park; it’s a shame that future generations won’t be able to enjoy the beauty of these glaciers.

The park is breathtaking from the moment you enter. Beautiful waterfall! I took a hike along the Trail of Cedars. Avalanche GorgeThe water was crystal clear! After a long, cold winter - new foliage is sprouting up.The dog has nothing to do with the park, he was just really cute!

Like me, these dogs were having a nice picnic! These varmints were just waiting for me to drop a crumb of food!

This is a GREAT little motel I am staying at in E. Glacier Park, MT

It's a real clean little place - run by 2 really nice people!
