PICTURED ROCKS NATIONAL LAKESHORE

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is truly a mosaic of natural and cultural wonders. There are 15 miles of towering sandstone cliffs, beautiful beaches, and enormous sand dunes. Miners Castle is the most famous formation of the Pictured Rocks. There is a breathtaking overlook of Lake Superior and Grand Island. Erosion over long periods of time has created the interesting rock formations that give this place its name. A rockfall in 2006 dramatically changed the look of Miners Castle.
